An Easter Meditation

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, April 4, 2010

Let the life force flow,
let it cascade through your veins
maddeningly, gloriously,
like a mighty stream,
like a raging torrent,
like the Eastertide rush
of life that won’t be stopped.

Open wide the high gates
that keep your life hidden;

burst through the walls that keep you
hemmed in by small desires;
open wide the flood gates
and let life dash in
and nearly carry you away
in the rush of the water,
the sweep of the tide,
and the embrace of a life
that knows no limits.

Let the life force flow,
sweeping you into the new realm
 we are building here on earth,
with blueprints of the Eternal Master--
Great Helmsman of the Soul--
Great Admiral of the Heart--
to whom we are all precious sailors, dear comrades,
doing our part as the Spirit guides
life’s fragile, precious ship
to ever-eastering harbors of forever,
where beams of sunrise embrace us
when life is new,
and arms of sunset enfold us
when this life is through.
