Divine things well enveloped

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, November 2, 2008

There amid the brambles and the bushes,
the tangled mass of overgrowth so disheveled,
there lie holy flowers waiting to be discovered,
uncovered, and made visible upon the Earth.

The breeze of the Spirit blows over them
and their beauty is made manifest;
the breath of the Spirit sweeps through us
and our hearts beat again with the passion of life.

Listen to the Spirit breathing in you;
open your eyes to the finer ways of love.
New discoveries of grace always lie
enveloped in the mundane duties of daily living.

Open your eyes and let them glimpse again
Life’s beauty.
Open your heart and let it beat again
with the song that your life sings.

Then you will truly discern, all of an instant,
the glory and the splendor of this world;
then you will truly know at last
the power and the beauty of this, your holy life.
