Perhaps a holy plan

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, September 23, 2007

Perhaps there is a plan, etched in the heart of the universe;
and with each cosmic heartbeat, it draws closer to fruition.
With each moment of expansion, the circle draws fuller,
wider; as deeper the resonance of Love penetrates our being.

All is magnified through the lens of eternity;
our little deeds toward justice and of love
become like loaves and fishes, multiplied—
‘til we, too, at last, cry out:
“My soul reflects the very Will of God!”

Not in grand or ostentatious gesture;
still less in the affectations of glamour or of wealth;
but in the simple emptiness of who we are,
the Spirit has its throne.
It is through the genuine kindness of our simple acts of love—
like circles of a pebble tossed in a pond--
that a more heavenly realm is made manifest in this world.
