All Earth is sacred space,
every place we walk
and move and stand.
The outward and inner are united
in one total, living whole.
All spirit is holy, if we use it so;
every time we breathe
and sing and laugh in the way of love,
that Spirit descends, and everything is possible again.
The same fire that brought this universe to birth
burns at this very moment in our souls.
Each one of us,
young as we are, old as we are,
wherever we walk along our way,
are part and parcel of this Earth
and all that is;
we are interdependent, woven fine for all time
in the lives of one another.
Remember this, my three young friends:
The world needs you now,
more than ever.
It is in our holy uniqueness
that the key to our being lies:
all happiness is there, all bliss,
all we need to know of the love and wisdom of God.
We are most alive
when we are most ourselves (as cracked as we are),
and the true currency of this often debased world
lies in that which we share with each other
from the core of our beings.
We are joined with each other
in the sacred dance of life.
The Earth gives us so many reasons (so many seasons)
to rejoice.
Her lessons are clearer, and so much more to the point,
than ours:
be patient, have faith, wait for your season;
but stretch those roots down through
this holy ground;
stretch those wings up toward
the heaven you build
each day of a life well-lived.
Be blest, my three young friends, be blest.
And return blessing for blessing
to this world which needs you more than ever now.
