On the journey

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, June 4, 2006

I am more convinced than ever
that this world is but a mirror:
We all see ourselves reflected
in every moment; wherever we happen to be;
whenever we look out at these,
our fellow blissful, struggling pilgrims
on this Earth.

We are drawn together on a great journey;
on this great celestial pilgrimage.
We are drawn, constantly, together, back toward
the blinding light and splendor that gave us birth.
We are bound together, all of us,
in one huge, momentous, eternal energy event.

But to know this truth,
we have to free ourselves from the blinders
of our own little histories;
we have to get out of our heads,
and back onto the Earth,
and look out at the world with new-born eyes,
and see ourselves there on the immense journey,
striving back toward heaven,
together, as one, again.
