It Is In Our Unity That Our Salvation Lies

Rev. Jeffrey Symynkywicz, February 9, 2003

It is in our unity that our salvation lies:
our unity with this Earth which bore us,
with the God who loves us, and every day
(as we human ones reckon time)
with one another upon this Earth,
locked with one another in embrace,
in the sacred breast of God.

This is the simple proof of our Divinity:
that this myriad cascade of faces, folks, and friends
has been presented before us; these simple eyes
to apprehend. This is all we need to know
of Immortality: that our eyes shine in theirs;
that we make them smile and laugh; grow hot with anger;
that some inestimable essence of us will glow
in the eyes of their children. And that will be enough.

One God holds us all, in deepest Unity;
One God, reflected, refracted, and glorified
in all the hundreds of gods and goddesses
who cross our paths each day.
So it is to walk on Heaven’s path:
to take gentle, firm steps across the face of Earth,
and to know, each day, we’re here among the divine.
