Waiting Pariently For Spring

We wait patiently for spring
though winter is now less
than a season of darkness and fear
and every day becoming more
one of patient sleep and anticipation.

While it is still not the time for us
when the heart rushes forth
in full exuberance and vivid life colors,
it is nevertheless a time
of beauty and resilience.

We wait patiently for spring
with hearts and hands engaged
in the work, the waiting, the wondering, the hoping
for all the dreams that wait
as flowers and greenness.
